My name is Betsy Vergara Strawn. I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. My mom is Puerto Rican and My dad is Colombian. I grew up in a 100% Spanish household. 

I decided to become a Spanish Teacher and graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. I am currently a Language Acquisition Coach in Birdville ISD (I support the World Language & ESL Teachers in the district). I have taught Spanish 1- AP & IB Spanish. 

The reason why I decided to start My Bilingual Tot is because I was shocked at the lack of foreign language opportunities out there for my children. When my son started kindergarten there was no Spanish offered at the elementary level. Language acquisition is important in today’s world. The younger you start, the better!
